Adrastia was established in the summer of 2009 in Athens.
The group performs its own original compositions. The compositions are influenced by electronica, industrial, trans and soundtrack music. The peculiarity of their music is the electric violin which performs the main themes of the songs. The music is composed through synthesizers, samplers and computers.
In Greek mythology, Adrasteia, meaning "inescapable" also spelled Adrastia, was a nymph who was charged by Rhea with nurturing the infant Zeus, in secret, to protect him from his father Cronus in the Dictaean cave.
